Smoking a beef brisket is an art. The practice will make you perfect in it. Smoked brisket rub is an integral part of smoked brisket. I remember the first time I went for smoking a beef brisket. Quite a time has passed but it still seemed like yesterday. I was at a local county fair and there was some guy selling some great BBQ. I bought some brisket and the taste astonished me.

As the years have passed, I have fine-tuned the rub which is the best thing about smoking a brisket. By the way, I would a top rated electric smoker for the best result of any smoker recipe. I love the pepper taste so my seasoning rub is more inclined on the peppery side.

I always emphasize on bringing out the beefy flavor of brisket. In my experience, a decent amount of salt always help to do that. Some powders like garlic, onion and chili also adds a bit something to the rub. You can put some cayenne powder for heat. This obviously is my choice, anybody can have their own additions to the smoked brisket rub.

If you want to have a bit spicy rub, you can add some more cayenne powder. For some sweet taste, you can introduce some sugar. Make sure you don’t add too much of it as it will give a burned flavor to the rub. Now, you can mix all the ingredients and apply on the beef brisket. You can also save some rub in a jar for future use.
